As we come to the close of July and head into August with open arms, we’ll take a brief look into what is coming up over the next fortnight. Interestingly for Leonardo helicopters, the New York City – Environmental Protection Department have announced they will be taking on the AW119Kx as of 2018.
The colloquial known Koala has been selected by the NYC EPD, with a range of options, including but not limited to Forward Looking Infra-Red, Expanded Fuel System, External Loudspeakers and foldable stretchers accessible by crew doors on both sides of the airframe.
In recent weeks, 2 x AW119Kx have also been ordered by the Chinese helicopter market as part of a 17 helicopter procurement through their Intercontinental helicopter Investment Co. Ltd. It is also rebranded as the TH-119 and offered to the United States Navy as a Powerful, Single Engine trainer.
More locally, we will be heading down to the International Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare on the 6 Aug 17, to offer air experience flights, taking one of our Jetranger fleet to mingle with the general public. If you are interested in getting involved please visit our website. Or give the Helicopter Museum a call! 01934 877000 / 01934 635227
